Police officers from Misikhu police station in Bungoma county, Webuye have confirmed shooting dead a 45-year-old man, Simiyu Soita, on October 7 during an anti-illicit brew operation. A police report claims the deceased attacked a police constable who they claim initially fired twice in the air to scare the deceased before fatally shooting him. Soita later succumbed to his gunshot wounds at Lugulu Mission Hospital.
