First they were abducted in Nairobi on July 23 and their documents recovered in October 22 at the Aberdare ranges, Nyandarua county. Bones recovered from the scene to undergo tests for determination.

Zulfiqar Khan,Mohamed Zaid and taxi driver Nicodemus Mwania were first kidnapped by security agents attached to DCI on July 23.
Five individuals among them two civilians and three police officers attached to the DCI's disbanded SSU unit have been arrested in connection to the disappearances.
Their personal properties and documents were recovered on October 22 at Nyandarua county in the Aberdare forest. Bones recovered from the scene are undergoing tests for identification. Incase it is determined that the bones are for the deseased, we will have additional killings of three in October.
