DCI confirmed that police officers drawn from the Special Service Unit shot dead five unknown suspects in Kakamega county, Makhokho subcounty on May 18. The police report the five were armed and were headed to commit crimes is Kakamega, Mumias and Bungoma. The report alleges the suspects defied police orders to stop at Makhokho and instead fired at the police indiscriminately prompting the fatal shootout. N.B. Missing Voices was not able to confirm the incidents that lead to the death of the 5 males.
