According to reports, on October 7, Dennis Lusava was arrested, by officers associated with Mbururu police post, for not wearing a face mask. His parents visited him at the post and found him handcuffed in his underwear, severely beaten and unable to talk or eat. When they arrived the next day to visit him they were informed that he had been released, but no one could locate him.
His body was later found in River Nzoia and was then taken to Webuye Hospital Mortuary.
The autopsy revealed that Lusava’s cause of death was repeated blunt force trauma.
2 police officers and 1 businessman were arrested on October 25th; they will remain in police custody pending the 14-day investigation into Lusava’s killing.
