David Maina Kariuki was killed on July 22, 2021 in Mathare, Nairobi along Juja road. According to eye witnesses, around 10 police officers from Pangani police station arrested Maina from Mathare Area Two at 8:30PM where he was allegedly dragged from his motorbike. Witnesses allege they heard gunshots after three and a half hours from the time police took Kamau away. It is alleged that Kamau was found at City Mortuary, with two gunshot wounds in the head and one in the stomach.
